Objective
To provide hands-on experience in an audio lab, including instruction in ProTools. Students who successfully complete the course will understand basic audio theory and be able to create an audio project using ProTools.
Content
Audio lab practice and exercises. Basic principles of recording, technical terms, studio operation, microphones, consoles, signal processing, digital audio, and concepts of sound design.

Notes
- BECA 230 and 231 must be taken together.
- There is a lab fee for BECA 231. The lab fee must be paid by second week. Students who do not pay the lab fee will be dropped from both the 230 and the 231 classes.
- All assignments / tests must be completed to receive a passing grade.
- Each student must attend two hours of lab every week.
- Save your project on computer workspace folder as assigned by your instructor and keep a copy yourself.
- Follow Lab policies and file management policies as explained by the instructors.
- BECA 230 and BECA 231 are independent classes and are graded separately.
